L ' IGT ' Villa Montosoli "ist ein Wein mit Trauben aus einem einzigen Weinberg auf dem berühmten Hügel von Montosoli in Montalcino gemacht, mit Reben über 40 Jahren.
Grape Variety Sangiovese with small percentage of local varietals such as Colorino, Ciliegiolo, Canaiolo, etc. picked by hand in the first week of October
Training System: spurred cordon, 3,000 buds/ha, yeld 40 q.li/ha
Area of production: Grapes from single vineyard at the top of renowned Montosoli hill in Montalcino from vines that are over 40 years old
Soil composition: poor soil, limestone, rich in skeleton grain and minerals, warm and well-draining
Production: alcoholic fermentation and maceration on the skins for about 20 days in temperature-controlled steel vats (about 30°C) aged for 24 months in French oak tonneaux
Tasting Notes: limpid colour, ruby red tending to garnet; intense aroma, persistent, enveloping with aromas of undergrowth, tones of red fruit jam and spicy finish; on the palate rich, elegant, proper tannins with long finisch.
Food & Wine Pairinf: Red meats, roasts, wild game and aged cheeses; serving 18°C.
Storing: Wine to hold, store sideways at 15°C in dark place without noise or other aromas.
